Whitechapel Lyric Analysis
Whitechapels lyrics cover a variety of subjects, such as death, gore, flesh, and immortality. None of which are very radio friendly. The debut album, titled "The Somatic Defilement." The record is a concept album based on Jack the Ripper, in which all of the songs are first-person narratives of the slaughter of prostitutes. The second album, "This Is Exile" is also a concept album, but is based moreso around the themes of religion and poltiics. Their newest release, "A New Era of Corruption" is the first non-concept album Whitechapel has put out, which is written about more personal ideas.

Captivating with sadistic intentions to exalt the carrion
Holding onto faith like it would help me anyway
Up on my feet. Vehemence takes over as I pave the way to anatomical feasts
Severing the ties I once endured to understand why it is that I crave the dead
Going by my knowledge of popular culture
I find a sense in malpracticing the common ways

An injection of sodium thiopental applied.
